Summary

Over the last few weeks, severalSchedule 1rip-offs, like the blatant Schedule 1: Dope Empire and Schedule 1 Syndicate, have appeared on the PlayStation Store, as opportunists attempt to capitalise on the viral Steam hit by tricking players into buying their game.

Solo developer Tyler is keenly aware of these copycats, warning gamers away and stressing that “these are not affiliated with me in any way”. Right now, Schedule 1 is strictly PC-exclusive, so if you see another game using its name on console, it’s bound to be fake.

Schedule 1 is facing similar allegations from Drug Dealer Simulator.

As reported byInsider Gaming,Tyler did spin something positive out of this unfortunate string of knock-offs, taking the opportunity to address future platform plans. They wrote on Twitter, “I’d love to port Schedule 1 to console when the game is at the right stage for that”.

If Schedule 1 Comes To Console, Expect Some Fanfare — Tyler Isn’t Going To Just Shadowdrop It

So, while Schedule 1 isn’t in development for PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch right now, that doesn’t mean console players won’t be able to live out the life ofa slightly cursed, Play-Doh-looking Walter Whiteone day. Just don’t expect it to be shadowdropped on a random Tuesday (which is exactly what these copycats are preying on).

Schedule 1: Dope Empire appears to have been taken down, asthe page now lands you with an error.

Tyler stressed that they “will announce it to the Schedule 1 community well before it happens”, so you’re able to expect a bit more fanfare than a sudden release on the PlayStation Store.

In the meantime, if you do see anything and wonder if you just happened to miss the announcement, it’s always worth checking the developer of the game before you hand over your hard-earned drug money. Schedule 1 was released under Tyler’s solo dev studio, TVGS. Unless you see that name in the listing, it’s fake. Just look at Schedule 1 Syndicate, which was announced by the unaffiliated Adventure Games S.R.L.
