As is the nature of any Early Access survival game, the most important items of today may prove to be mere stepping stones on the path toward far greater heights in the months and years to come. As of launch, however, Padded Cloth is one ofRunescape: Dragonwilds’key ingredients, needed for the crafting of substantially high-end gear.

Naturally, the acquisition of Padded Cloth is suitably challenging. Our guide will talk you through the steps necessary to craft it. Crafting Padded Cloth is more about the somewhat steep prerequisites than the process itself, so you’ll be churning it out at a good pace once it’s unlocked.

Obtaining A Loom Harness

The thing aboutPadded Clothin Runescape: Dragonwilds is that, well, getting it for the first time is going to require you to have toughened up a good deal. Attempting to acquire some of the necessary materials without proper protection risks repeated game overs from powerful foes.

You’ll need access to aLoom, and that Loom must havetwo slots. Looms, for the record, only have one slot by default. Thus, you’ll also need aLoom Harness, which provides that necessary second slot.

Here’s the issue: to craft a Loom Harness,Ram Horns, Iron Bars, Ash Planks, Oak Logs, and Wool Threadare required.

Rams, which drop the Ram Horns (fittingly), can only be found in theStormtouched Highlands. This is aLevel 4 zoneto the west of theFractured Plains. Iron deposits are also found exclusively in this zone, so you’re headed into significant danger for both ingredients.

As for Ash Planks, they’ll need aSawmillin order to be crafted, but at least you’ll not be in rough territory for them. Oak Logs, you’ve surely encountered by now, and we’ll touch upon Wool Thread below.

Crafting Padded Cloth

Once the Loom Harness is yours, you can use that newfound access to two Loom slots to mixRough Cloth and Wool Cloth. Let’s take these each one step at a time.

Rough Cloth

Wool Cloth

In both cases, we’re only using the one Loom slot. But once you have both Rough Cloth and Wool Cloth in your possession, slot the two into the Loom to make Padded Cloth. You’ll need a great deal of Padded Cloth while craftingiron-tier gear, so get used to spinning and looming!
