Summary
Monster Hunter Wildsis the most approachable entry in the long-running series. Many players have been commending or complaining about the relatively easy hunts, depending on which side of the fence they’re on, and the prep for each hunt has also become more streamlined. However, thecomplex matchmakingand tons of menus are still an issue for some.
Speaking of easy hunts, there will always be players who put other hunters to shame by taking down tempered monsters in no time and without taking a hit. However, it seems some players have found an exploit to beat tempered monsters in mere seconds, even as quickly as two seconds.

Sometimes, It’s All About The Chase
As spotted byVG247, some players are defeating some of the toughest monsters in impossible times, even as low as 1.53 seconds. However, it’s not that they’re one-shotting the monsters, but exploiting a loophole in the game to record such quick hunt times. As showcased in the video below, this is accomplished with the help of poison ammo.
In Monster Hunter Wilds, monsters can be harmed by the environment. You can drop rocks on them, set them ablaze, or even poison them by using your environment. The game ensures that if a monster is affected by such a status, it doesn’t automatically trigger a hunt scenario. However, some players have exploited a loophole in this system to whittle down a monster’s health till it barely has any health left before starting an actual hunt.

As you’re able to see in the video, the hunter keepsattacking the Tempered Chatacabrawith poison ammo, but the quest and timer don’t actually start. The Chatacabra is agro though, so they still have to dodge its attack, but the quest hasn’t started. Once it’s brought down to minimal health, the hunter drops tranquilizer bombs to put it to sleep, initiates a hunt, and promptly drops a shock trap to achieve a 1.53 second hunt.
Of course, this doesn’t mean the entire encounter lasts for 1.53 seconds, as the hunter had to take their time to bring the Chatacabra’s health down with poison ammo. In fact, it’s a longer process than an actual hunt with proper weapons and ammo. But it does give you a pretty neat screenshot which says you’ve completed a tough hunt in impossible time.
