Sonic Stadiumshared the news on Tuesday morning, but the news wasn’t what it seemed, something you’d have noticed had you read the reveal carefully. This wasn’t simply a case of Sonic Stadium removing the L and seeing who would fall for it. Sonic CrossWords is a real game you can play right now, and while Sega doesn’t appear to have had a hand in its creation, you’d be forgiven for thinking the studio itself was behind this joke.

If nothing else, it’s a nice distraction from the fact we still don’t know much about Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. Sega ran a network test for its upcoming racing game, but it hasn’t given the game a release date. The latest update - and update might be a stretch -saw the official Sonic account responding to an Among Us request to be considered for the game’s roster. Sega confirmedcharacters from its other games will be on the CrossWorlds roster, and now it seems characters from non-Sega games might be up for consideration too.
