Summary

Star Wars Battlefront 2is currently undergoing a resurgence that you rarely see in the games industry these days. At the start of the month, the game was averaging around 1,000 players a day on Steam, but that number ended up growing pretty substantiallythanks to all the Star Wars hype surrounding May 4, and the release of the second season of Andor.

A few days later, the number of players jumped again, and the number has been growing ever since. In fact, it was recently claimed by a reliable Battlefront insider that the gameis currently averaging around 80-90k players across all platforms, and it appears as though we could see even more growth as we head into the weekend.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 Has Broken Its All-Time Peak Player Count For The First Time In Four Years

First spotted by the Twitter account Daily Star Wars Games, the resurgence of Battlefront 2 has been going so well that it has officially beaten its own all-time peak player count on Steam, which was set at 10,489 over four years ago. At the time of writing, Star Wars Battlefront 2’s all-time peak player countnow sits at 11,484, and it’s likely it won’t stop there as we head into the weekend.

Of course, that isn’t too many players when compared to other live-service juggernauts, but it’s pretty impressive considering EA has barely touched the game for the past half a decade. While we don’t have any confirmed statistics, it’s also very likely that this upwards trend in players will be happening on other platforms too.

At this rate, we may actually convince EA to actually give Battlefront another shot and finally give us a third game. There are plenty of people who’d be down to make it happen too, including Andor actor Muhanned Ben Amor, and evena group of ex-Battlefront developers recently claimed that they’d love to get the band back together and work on a sequel. Make it happen EA, you’d be a fool not to.
