New Star Wars Game Revealed, More Details Coming Soon
The game is a collaboration between indie studio Bit Reactor, Lucasfilm Games, and Respawn
“Recruit an unconventional team of operatives and deploy them on missions unlike any other in the galaxy far, far away in Star Wars Zero Company,” reads ablog poston the Star Wars website, announcing the new game. The post doesn’t give us any more details than that, other than giving us a look at the first poster.
More details about Zero Company will be revealed at Star Wars Celebration Japan, which will kick off on April 18, running until April 20. The post says that these details will be shared with everyone after a panel on Saturday, around 4:30pm JST (03:30am EST Sunday).
As for the poster, we’re told that it depicts “a few members of the elite squad” that we will command as part of the tactical gameplay. So, it seems that there are many more to show off.
Some screenshots actually leaked earlier this month, before the game was even announced. Back when the project was known as Star Wars Bruno, we got a peek at some tactical gameplay, showing a player taking their turn in combat. Comparisons were made between Bruno, now Zero Company, and theXCOMseries - which makes sense, as Bit Reactor is made up of former XCOM developers. That said, the leak showed how the game looked in 2023, so we’ll have to see how it looks now when it’s showcased over the weekend.
Right now, we don’t know when Zero Company will launch or what platforms it’s targeting.
