Party Animals offers a simple but extremely fun gameplay loop where every player tries to be the last one standing. The game also offers unique playable characters to unlock and personalize your experience. From cats to ducks, you’re able to choose from the various animals in the game to take on other players.
While every character and their many skins are purely cosmetic, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try to unlock your favorites. While some are too cute to resist, others are based on known characters or IPs that help you represent your favorites.

10Sparky
Are You A Zero Or The One?
Sparky is a dog character you may choose to play as in Party Animals. Being an extremely common name for dogs, including Victor Frankenstein’s dog named Sparky in the movie Frankenweenie, this cute little critter looks excellent on the game-winning pedestal with its colorful design.
Arguably, this character’s best skin is The One Sparky. Being based on Neo from The Matrix, the skin has Sparky wearing Neo’s trademark black coat and glasses with a nonchalant look. Of course, it helps that the in-game description states his favorite dog food is red pill flavored.

9Max
Greet Them With Style
There are multiple breeds of dogs in Party Animals, though Max will easily be your favorite character if you’re a Husky enthusiast. With tired and lazy eyes paired with a scarf in his base skin that has the game’s name on it, this long-tailed critter can easily cause devastation on the battlefield. While he has multiple creative skins, old-school gamers have to give Lance Bean a shot.
Inspired by the classic game Contra and based on one of the two protagonists, Lance Bean, the skin has the iconic red bandana alongside Lance’s trademark shirtless look. However, the shirtless part is easy to forget, considering most characters in the game fit those criteria.

8Nemo
The Mascot
Nemo, the mascot of Party Animals, is shown in a lot of the game’s marketing material alongside a certain cat. Being the character you see alongside the developer’s logo when you launch the game, this cute little dog has some of the most imaginative and creative skins.
Nemo’s most stand-out skin is Gordon Nemo. The name, look, and in-game description that just states he doesn’t talk much should be more than enough for every Half-Life fan to know the skin is based on the series' protagonist, Gordon Freeman. The iconic lowercase Greek letter Lambda on Gordon Nemo’s toned-down HEV suit is also a blatant giveaway.

7Levi
The Chosen Grumpy One
Levi is easily the grumpiest animal in Party Animals. With a look that makes it clear he wants to be anywhere but there and that his social battery is always low, it makes it all the more hilarious when he grabs and spins someone around. His nature isn’t purely evil, but he has a diabolical streak shown in all of his skins.
Inspired byStar Wars, the Dark Force Levi skin transforms Levi intoa Sith Lord of sorts. The skin brings out Levi’s menacing personality. While it’s easy to assume the skin is based onAnakin Skywalker just before he turns into Darth Vader, the oversized hood hiding his face gives him an ominous aura that perfectly suits Levi.

6Lloyd
Quack Quack
A party game based on animals would be incomplete without duck characters who quack every time they get hit. Fortunately, you can play as Lloyd to meet that necessity. With multiple skins for you to unlock, Lloyd’s most iconic skin is Bill Rizer, which completely revamps the duck’s appearance.
Bill Rizer’s addition to Party Animals is the game’s way of honoring the classic character of the popular game Contra. He is more experienced in combat compared to the other characters and is the perfect character for you if you want to go in guns blazing, so to speak. While the experience won’t help you in this game, it helps with roleplaying. The character is in his typical military garb and iconic look from Contra.

5Gopher
The Silent Character
Introduced on Groundhog Day, Gopher is likely based on the Winnie the Pooh character with the same name. Unlike characters like Levi, Gopher is one of the more optimistic characters in the Party Animals character roster, enjoying every day to the fullest. Even his in-game description states it’s a perfect day, again.
The Mayor Gopher skin suits the marmot’s aloof personality and offers some variety in the game. The cute little top hat gives him an iconic look that pairs excellently with his little bow tie and makes him out to be the mayor of a tiny dam of beavers.

4Otta
Otta may not have any thoughts in that little head of his, but he does have a lot of style. This otter’s blank expression can lead to hilarious moments when playing with friends, like being the only one chilling on top of the submarine while everyone else swims to save their lives.
Taking this character’s already cool look to the next level is his Mafia Otta skin. Even the skin’s in-game description states people outside the family won’t know what he’s thinking, though at least that means there are likely other Ottas who understand each other.

3Harry
Quack In The Dark Side
Harry is a character from Party Animals that seems to be heavily inspired by the Pokemon, Psyduck. Most of his skins, including his base one, have the character stare blankly into space, even if it’s clear he’s planning something devious.
The Dark Force Harry skin, though, makes it clear he’s a force to be reckoned with. The skin changes his aloof expression into one of pure anger and gives him a helmet that will remind anyone of Darth Vader. He may not have the force, but at least it’s clear he’s a fan of space villains who like glowing red sticks.

2Garfat
Garfat Hates Mondays
It’s easy to assume that Garfat isheavily inspired by Garfield the Cat. The game turns him into a bigger cat, which makes his lazy and gluttonous personality more showcased. Compared to the other furry animals, he makes for a relatively cuter character that you can select to knock out enemies while in search of lasagna.
While Garfat has multiple skins you can unlock, the base skin has a certain charm to it. Whether it’s because the skin lets you play as the closest thing to Garfield or because his bow tie brings out the color in his eyes, the only thing you should keep in mind is never let him near Nemo the Dog.

1Maneki
As The Sakura Flowers Bloom
Party Animals has no shortage of cats, but Maneki has to be the most majestic one. This calico Lucky Cat wears a red collar with yellow stripes and a little bell attached to it. While Maneki’s expression is hard to determine, all that matters is that she looks cool while making it.
Maneki’s Sakura Maneki skin takes things to the next level by giving her an even more majestic scarf. The scarf slowly floats in the wind as the Japanese-inspired skin gives the cat clothes that are perfect for the chilly season, as the sakura trees bloom.
