The Pox is a pair of Infested projectiles that are thrown from your hands, detonating on impact. Each projectile creates a lingering Toxin cloud on impact, dealing Toxin damage every second for the next four seconds. Damage ticks aren’t potent in terms of damage, but they have fairly high base status chance.

You’re best off using the Pox as a status primer, using the toxic clouds as a form of area denial for weaker targets and a general debuff tool for tougher units. The intrinsic Toxin damage makes this weapon a good candidate for Corrosive or Viral status.

Pox Builds

We’ll be focusing on one build for the Pox today, focusing on the weapon’s high status chance to create a powerful status primer. If you want to make this weapon a solid DPS option in Steel Path, we suggest using the Coda variant and focusing on external critical sources like Arcane Avenger. For our purposes, priming targets with status debuffs should be more than enough.

Coda Pox

The main goal with this build is to get your status chance to roughly 100 percent while scaling the weapon’s status damage. We can accomplish the former with60/60 elemental mods—Pistol Pestilence, Frostbite, and Scorch.Since we inflict quite a few status effects, we can usePrimed Heated Chargeto drastically increase our Heat proc chance and the Pox’s overall damage.

Use Viral + Heat to maximize your damage against most factions.

Base damage is up next.Hornet Strikeis your only option since Galvanized Aptitude doesn’t work for AoE damage. you may also runCascadia Flareas your Arcane for an extra 480 percent base damage; it is always active since we constantly proc Heat status.Galvanized Diffusion and Lethal Torrentthen scale our multishot. Finish the build withPistol Elementalistto scale your elemental DoT effects.
