Daggers may not seem like the most critical weapons in Baldur’s Gate 3, but you shouldn’t completely dismiss them. Despite a lower base-damage output, certain daggers have unique effects and spells that can turn the tide of battle. Small but deadly, daggers are best for sneakyclasses like Rogues, Shadow Monks, or Gloom Stalker Rangers.

10Worgfang
Worgfang is a dagger you can find early in the game. It’s perfect for a lot ofAct Oneencounters, as it grants the wielder certain abilities against Goblins. Any goblin attacking you has a Disadvantage on Attack Rolls.
Found in the Worg Pens, it’s easily missable if players don’t explore every area of the Goblin Camp and Shattered Sanctum. It’s worth acquiring if you plan on fighting the goblins and defending The Grove.

9Ritual Dagger Of Shar
The Ritual Dagger of Shar isn’t the most powerful in the game, but it’s great to grab during Act Two. Located on a protected altar in the Sharran Sanctuary, players need to be ready for conflict if they wish to take the blade.
This uncommon dagger deals out extra Necrotic damage every time it strikes a foe. With a +1 Enchantment, it’s also more likely to hit the target.
Picking up this dagger will cause Shadowheart to disapprove and three powerful Sentinels to attack. Be prepared for a fight.
8Gleamdance Dagger
The Gleamdance Dagger isn’t available untilAct Three, but its unique effects make it a great option for your stealth build. The +1 AC is a great addition for your rogue, as they tend to be a bit squishy, though to work it needs to be wielded in their off-hand.
The glowing light that radiates from the blade can be helpful in darker areas, though if you’re attempting to hide it may not be the best option. Still, the bonus AC is a great perk to have.
7Sussur Dagger
The Sussur Dagger is a rare weapon that is crafted fromSussur Treebark in Act One as part of the Masterwork Forge quest. While the base damage isn’t anything to brag about, the unique effect this blade provides is incredibly helpful.
Once you’ve equipped this dagger, every strike has a chance of silencing your target, so your enemies cannot speak or cast spells for two turns. This weapon is great to have when you’re going up against strong spellcasters.
6Cold Snap
Cold Snap is another dagger that increases your AC as long as it is wielded off-hand. On top of the increased defense, it has a chance of chilling enemies for two turns. The 1d4 of Cold damage is applied every time an enemy misses their attack and fails a Saving Throw.
Purchasable from the trader Ferg early in Act Three as long as you succeed the Perception check, it’s a great addition to your rogue or ranger’s arsenal.
If Shadowheart is in your party, there is a chance Ferg will refuse to trade with you. Leave her at Camp if she is a Selunite if you want to purchase this dagger.
The Dread Iron Dagger is a fantastic option for those who relish a Stealth build. This blade gives you bonus Necrotic damage if you attack with it while hidden. Sneak Attacks are much deadlier with this melee weapon.
You have to wait until the final Act to get this blade. You can purchase it at the Murder Tribunal, as long as you have remained on their good side and accepted Bhaal, so it’s not always the best option for a morally good playthrough.
You must become the Unholy Assassin to acquire this blade.
4Dolor Amarus
Looking to deal a lot of extra damage with your dagger? Dolor Amarus deals an additional seven damage on a Critical Hit, making it one of the strongest daggers in the game.
This Critical Hit can be done either Unarmed or with the weapon, as long as the one doing the damage has it handy. There are multiple ways to get this dagger, depending on your moral alignment. It’s only found in Act Three, but it’s useful in some of the final fights.
3The Stillmaker
The Stillmaker is one of the frequently missed weapons for first-time players of Baldur’s Gate 3. Hidden away in a crypt under a pile of rocks, you must succeed a Perception Check to find it.
This very rare dagger gives the wielder the spell Hold Person, an extremely valuable skill that helps you control the battlefield. Mix that with the +2 Enchantment, and it’s a great dagger to have in Act Three.
2Rhapsody
Rhapsody, one of the more recognizable weapons in the game, belongs to Cazador. While it doesn’t boast any magical effects, it does provide a +1 Bonus to Attack Rolls, Damage, and Spell Save DC. On top of that, you have a higher chance of inflicting Bleeding on enemies when you attack while Hiding or Invisible.
This is the perfect dagger for a stealthy rogue. Considering Astarion uses this dagger if you finish his companion quest, it’s highly recommended for him.
You must finish The Pale Elf questline to get this dagger.
1Bloodthirst
The most powerful dagger in Baldur’s Gate 3 is Bloodthirst. Orin uses this brutal blade, allowing her to damage her enemies with more precision. The legendary weapon has a +2 Enchantment and makes Critical Hits more likely to succeed. It also makes targets vulnerable to Piercing damage, giving the wielder a higher chance of killing an enemy.
The bound weapon cannot be knocked out of the wielder’s hand, and automatically returns after being thrown. It’s a must-have for rogues, especially when wielded in the off-hand.
