8Episode 5
Gregory has a nice time with one of his students, Jabari, and gives him a pencil to keep. However, his dad gets extremely jealous and asks for a fight. On the other hand, Melissa comes to work physically hurt but refuses to go see a doctor about it.
As the time for the fight gets closer, Gregory talks to many people, like Tarik, his teacher, friends and even his dad, who encourage him to fight back. Although Gregory comes up with a plan to avoid a fight with Jacob, it goes horribly wrong. In the end, both adults don’t fight each other for Jabari’s sake. The funniest bit to come out of this episode is when Jabari’s dad calls Gregory thesuperhero, Deadpoolafter he talks to the camera.

7Episode 2
Ringworm
When Jacob notices Brandon scratching his arm during class, he asks him what the problem is. It turns out, Brandon has been infected with ringworm, which sends everyone into a panic. Gregory locks himself in his classroom whereas Janine, Melissa, and Ava take safety measures, which leads to sealing off the upper and lower floors of the entire school.
However, Jacob lets a student of his use the washroom, which allows ringworm to be spread in the other classrooms. Chaos erupts among the teachers until Jacob suggests a neat idea that isolates the infected students. The most hilarious parts of this episode are how Barbara and Gregory tackle ringworm in their own different ways. The episode also has one of the best openings as it sees all the teachers and parents do a line dance to ‘Wild Wild West’.

6Episode 13
Science Fair
Like every school, Abbott Elementary has a science fair. However, the kids' excitement is squashed as the fair completely derails. The episode sees Jacob having to team up with his arch nemesis, Morton, to become judges of the fair. He also drags Barbara down with him.
Unfortunately, things don’t go as planned since the teachers start to compete in the science fair with the kids. Due to this, the competition gets intense and the judges' unfair scoring makes the kids rule out the teachers from the science fair. The best scenes from this episode are certainly the ones with the trio of Morton, Barbara and Jacob as they lead to some hilarious interactions.

5Episode 4
Costume Contest
In this Halloween episode, Barbara wants to celebrate it with the students in her traditional way. However, a parent refuses and asks her not to do so. Meanwhile, Gregory and Janine wear their niche Jurassic Park couples costume for a contest. Unfortunately, nobody’s able to recognize who or what they are.
The episode sees Barbara try her best to get students into her traditions but ultimately fails to do so and accepts the reality. On the other hand, Gregory and Janine try to switch their costumes at the last minute to win but end up changing back to their original ones, as that’s what made it fun for them. The episode also ends with a neat homage to the Blade films with Ava nailing her costume.

4Episode 21
Rally
After Ava gets fired from Abbott Elementary for taking bribes, the teachers plead to the district to give her job back and reinstate her. Unfortunately, their first attempt goes ablaze as they end up getting themselves temporarily suspended.
When the students realize this, they orchestrate a peaceful protest. This leads to the district listening to their demands once again, but it still isn’t enough. Finally, the PTA, other school principals and people from the community stand up for Ava, which forces the district to give her the job back. It is a very wholesome moment as we see the impact Ava has had on the community as a whole. The scene also hilariously resembles the final sequence from Avengers Endgame as the PTA head, Tarik, says, “On your left.”

3Episode 17
Karaoke
The teachers decide to have a karaoke night while Ava has her first date with O’Shon in a fancy restaurant. At the club, Jacob ends up bumping into his ex, Zach, who has achieved and done a lot more things since their separation. This puts him in an angry mood as he fiercely sings “Last Resort”.
Ava and O’Shon have problems on their date as she refuses to properly open up to him. It isn’t until they are outside that Ava shares her reason for acting out the way she did. Later, the couple make their way to the teacher’s karaoke party with the crew, where Jacob gets some nice advice from Melissa and Barbara. In the end, Gregory also makes it to the club from his second job and the whole group sings one last song together.

2Episode 8
Winter Break
As Christmas Eve arrives, everyone makes their own plans. Melissa invites Barbara over for her family dinner while Janine and Gregory decide to have a fun time watching some Christmas films. However, as always, these plans don’t go as intended.
Melissa’s family dinner hits a major speed bump as Jacob discovers her uncle Archie’s corpse in his room whereas Ava unexpectedly crashes Janine and Gregory’s party. Jacob insists on reporting the body whereas Melissa wants to do so only after the dinner is done. Eventually, the episode ends with the revelation that Archie isn’t dead and was just napping all along.

1Episode 22
Please Touch Museum
The finale of Season 4 is definitely its best episode. As the school takes a trip to the ‘Please Touch Museum’, Gregory’s dad, Martin, volunteers to help chaperon. Janine does her best to make a great first impression by changing her personality to a stricter, emotionless self. However, she abandons it as this version of herself is disliked by both herself and her students.
Instead, we see a change in Martin as he loosens up and jokes around with the kids. This shocked Gregory as he had never seen this version of his dad before. Upon asking the reason for this drastic change, he tells him about how Janine reminded him of Gregory’s mom and how she always told him to relax once in a while. This is the strongest aspect of Abbott Elementary as it’s able to balance comedy while delivering theseheartwarming moments.
