The third season ofCall of Duty: Black Ops 6has brought back some iconic weapons from Modern Warfare 2019. One such weapon is the HDR, a powerful sniper rifle that was widely used in the original launch of Warzone. It hits hard, has minimal recoil, and is generally one of the game’s easier sniper rifles to use.
It’s back in Black Ops 6, and it’s still a powerhouse in the right hands. Today, we’ll go over how to get the HDR and showcase some good builds for it, one tailored for general Multiplayer use and another for high-round Zombie matches.

How To Unlock The HDR
The HDR sniper is obtained through theSeason 3 Battle Pass, available as the final reward on Page 3.As you play matches of Multiplayer, Zombies, or Warzone, you’ll earn Battle Pass tokens that can be spent on rewards in the Battle Pass. Rewards must be purchased on pages you have unlocked. For example, you can’t purchase any rewards on Page 3 until you’ve unlocked enough rewards on the two previous pages.
The HDR is accessible to all players, even those who don’t own the Battle Pass.
Once the season ends, you’ll be able to unlock the HDR through the Armory Unlocks system, similar to past seasonal rewards likeHunter’s Instinct.
Pros And Cons
Blandwell 7x
This configuration is tuned for a little bit of everything. We use the uniqueCombat Stockon this build to greatly reduce incoming flinch while reducing our ADS speed slightly. We can then run theCHF Barrelto extend the HDR’s one-hit kill potential to the lower torso and arms, making it a highly forgiving sniper rifle.
The rest of your attachment options are preferential. We suggest usingExtended Mag Ifor less frequent reloads, aLightweight Bipodto greatly reduce this weapon’s horizontal weapon sway, andyour favorite opticfor easy sniping—we use the Blandwell 7x.
Loadout Recommendations
We recommend you run theRecon SpecialtyRecon Specialtyfor this build. Since the CHF Barrel comes with a built-in suppressor, we can useGhostto stay off enemy radar while we’re moving.TrackerandVigilancewill then trigger Recon’s set bonus, giving you a quick peek of enemy positions whenever you spawn in. For our Perk Greed, we runFlak Jacketto survive lethal equipment. Your choice of equipment is down to preference.
This HDR build is focused on improving the ADS speed of the HDR to make it easy to use. Use theQuickdraw Gripandany short-range opticto reduce your ADS speed. From there, we run theRapid Fireattachment to speed up the HDR’s slow rechambering speed. ARanger Foregripwill buff your sprint speed, and the Suppressor attachment will sometimes spawn extra Salvage. The remaining attachments are the same as our Multiplayer build.
