Amid all the fast-paced action sequences and the wonderful soundtrack that accompanies them, there are some great moments of writing sprinkled throughout theDevil May Cryanime adaptation on Netflix. These moments come in the form of dialogue that is quite memorable, whether it is because of the way a certain character eloquently delivers it or the kind of impact it has given certain scenarios.
From a villain dropping some interesting points to a character making his explosive debut in the series, there is no shortage of unforgettable quotes in Devil May Cry that will stick with you long after the credits roll.

8"This Guy’s Got Taste!"
- Unnamed Mercenary
The Devil May Cry franchise has always been quite metal at its core, and a lot of that is owed to the stellar soundtracks that come with each title, as Dante and killer music go hand-in-hand. Which is why, when Dante is about to be attacked by numerous mercenaries hired by William Baines, he first takes a moment to put on Guerrilla Radio by Rage Against the Machine on his jukebox, admitting that he simply works better with music playing.
As the sound of Angst Against the Device echoes through the building, one of the mercenaries can’t help but appreciate just how great Dante’s music taste is, verbalizing your sentiments towardsthe anime’s soundtrackas a viewer.

7"Leaving Everyone Plunging Toward A Squishy And Undignified End."
- White Rabbit
The White Rabbit is easily the most eloquent character to be featured in the Devil May Cry anime, so, as a result, you do not mind it much when he goes on and on with his monologues regarding any topic. One such monologue comes during the fourth episode, when the White Rabbit and the demon brother-duo working under him hold various people hostage on an airplane.
Revealing that Dante is the son of Sparda and encouraging him to activate his Devil Trigger powers, the White Rabbit explains how the protagonist’s father was a coward who doomed his people by creating the barrier between Makai and Earth just so he could live as a hero among humans. The monologue ends with the White Rabbit making a hilarious threat to his prisoners and telling them that their final moments will be quite messy if Dante does not realize his true potential to save them.

6"Our First Strike In The Holy War."
- William Baines
The Vice President of the United States somehow even manages to top the White Rabbit in terms of villainy without any redeeming qualities about his character, as he is adamant about destroying everything related to the demon world. Thinking that it is his religious duty to make the demons perish, William Baines would go to any lengths to ensure humanity’s victory, even at the cost of civilian life.
So, when he shows up in the aftermath of Dante’s confrontation with the White Rabbit and his soldiers, he states that this is just the beginning of humanity’s battle against the demons, promising even more death and destruction for his enemies. That results in a chilling moment that leads to the full-blown assault on Makai in the season finale.

5"How Do You Fit Those Balls In That Skintight Uniform?"
Aside from being an extremely menacing and well-spoken villain, the White Rabbit also has various moments in which his unhinged sense of humor takes the spotlight. One such moment comes in the Devil May Cry anime’s penultimate episode, during which the White Rabbit is reaching the final stages of his plan to break the barrier between Makai and Earth.
You would think that he would be asking that question of someone like Dante, but it is actually Mary who stands at the receiving end of it, as she threatens the antagonist that she will blow Dante up and ruin his entire scheme. It indicates that the White Rabbit does respect the kind of courage that Mary exudes, and the conversation between them has a lot of impact, considering that the preceding episode deals with both their respective backstories.

4"You Didn’t Get The Callback For The Chuck E. Cheese Band Auditions."
- Dante
Aside from being a big music and video game buff, Dante is also known for his wit and comedic timing, regardless of whatever intense situation he has to deal with. When Dante finally shows up on the battlefield to face the White Rabbit, one of the first things that he decides to do is insult the antagonist despite knowing that he is literally about to open the gates of hell on humanity.
The Chuck E. Cheese band used to be made of multiple animatronics, which is what Five Nights at Freddy’s is based on, making it a hilariously epic moment as Dante roasts the White Rabbit with a bloody sword in hand.

3"Mythology Exists To Explain Reality."
- Dr. Fisher
There are manycharacters in the Devil May Cry animewho may not necessarily have too much screen time to work with, but they ensure that they leave their mark in some shape or form. Similar is the case with Dr. Fisher, Darkcom’s in-house paranormal scientist, who has the heavy responsibility of explaining the lore behind the demon realm when a government official asks him whether he is talking about the hell you hear about in mythology.
That results in one of the best lines given to any character in Netflix’s adaptation, as Dr. Fisher answers that there is always some truth behind what humans simply believe to be mythology, clarifying that the demons are indeed real and coming for humanity.

2"I Am That Storm."
- Vergil
If you have been following the Devil May Cry franchise since its inception, you know that Vergil is just as iconic as his twin brother and protagonist Dante, if not more so. Sadly, he does not have much of a role to play in the Devil May Cry anime on Netflix, but he still manages to steal the show with extremely limited screen time in just one scene.
Right at the very end of the first season, when the Vice President of the United States declares war on the demon realm and bombards it without any regard for even the civilians, Vergil makes his entrance as he rescues various Makaian prisoners. Infuriated at the horrendous actions of the humans, Vergil states that the sapiens are not prepared for the storm that is about to hit them, referring to himself and his wrath while setting up the next season.

1"Now, We All Go Down The Rabbit Hole Together."
The sixth episode of Devil May Cry is arguably the anime at its absolute best because it takes a detour from the series' usual animation style to showcase two tragic backstories. However, one of the main reasons whythe episode stands outas an instant highlight is its lack of dialogue, as the anime relies solely on powerful visuals and eerie music to get its point across.
So, when the only spoken sentence in the entire 20-minute episode arrives at the very end, it leaves the kind of impact that solidifies the White Rabbit as one of the most intriguing antagonists put into animation in recent times. Given his childhood obsession with Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, which turns into his life as he goes into the demon world and finds a new family, the White Rabbit swears that he will put humans through the exact same atrocities that they inflicted upon the innocent Makaian refugees.
