Summary

With the popularity of streaming services such asNetflix, watching TV shows has become much more convenient. Whether you watch every show that releases and interests or binge-watch older shows, things are easier than in the past.

However, one issue with some TV shows is that they were canceled before their planned time. This means thatsome of them may have ended on cliffhangers, and if you despise not getting closure, you might get annoyed even if the rest of the show was beautiful.

Ned reanimates his mother in Pushing Daisies.

8Pushing Daisies

Pushing Daisies focuses on the life of Ned, a pie maker with an exceptional talent. He can reanimate the dead by touching them. Initially, he doesn’t know what to do with his powers, but a private investigator makes a deal with Ned. The duo raises the dead, uncovers their killers, and collects the reward.

Things go well until Ned has to reanimate Chuck, his childhood sweetheart. Once he decides to keep her alive, things take an unexpected turn as she joins the duo in solving murders. The makers knew the show was canceled, so they did give viewers an ending, but it was rushed, and not everything was explained.

Hilary Duff in How I Met Your Father.

7How I Met Your Father

The spin-off of the popular How I Met Your Mother follows the same basic formula, where the main character recounts to her unseen son how she met his father and ultimately had him. The show saw the return of the massively popular Barney Stinson but was criticized for a weak cast and its lack of comedic impact despite following the successful formula of its predecessor.

The season two finale ended without answering who the child’s father is. It also didn’t confirm who Sophie ended up with. Unfortunately, How I Met Your Father’s predecessor’s ending was met with much criticism, so the same may have happened with the spin-off. However, a show ending without closure just feels wrong.

The teens rioting in The Society.

6The Society

When some teenagers return to their homes and notice everyone they know has disappeared, what do they do? This is the basic premise of The Society, where a bunch of teens have to rebuild their community after their parents and other town residents disappear. There are several theories about the teens being in an alternate reality, but nothing concrete has been said.

In the season one finale, a dog is shown being able to travel between the two settlements. This hinted at a way for the teens to return to their reality. However, season two was canceled because of the pandemic, and you never got the answers to the questions.

Phil shopping in a supermarket in The Last Man on Earth.

5The Last Man On Earth

A deadly virusapparently wipes out the whole world, with Phil Miller seemingly being the only remaining person alive. The series follows Phil as he gets used to being The Last Man on Earth and how he finds others who are alive. After much struggling and a life of loneliness, Phil finds love and gets married.

As the series continues, they find more survivors, and their small group continues to grow, with other relationships sparking. In the finale of season four, the group finds another surviving group. If a fifth season had been released, you might have seen a change in the group dynamics because of an increase in the number of surviving people.

Cameron Black examining the plane wreckage in Deception.

4Deception

Deception follows the journey of Cameron Black, a Las Vegas illusionist who joins hands with the FBI in an attempt to save his twin brother, Jonathan Black. The show opens with Jonathan being arrested after a car crash that killed a woman. Jonathan claims he’s innocent because the woman he left with had heterochromia, and the dead woman is someone else.

In the season one finale, you see Jonathan knock out Cameron and leave the prison after switching identities with him. Nobody in the show knows about the switch-up, and season two was canceled due to low ratings, so it’s all in your imagination whether Cam was able to get out of prison.

Mads Mikkelsen in and as Hannibal.

Will is an FBI profiler known for his unorthodox methods. He has a unique ability to empathize with criminals and can gaze into their minds.

The show shows you a cat-and-mouse game, where Will is searching for the killer who is under his nose. Hannibal attempts to manipulate the FBI from within, but his obsession with Will and his ability to empathize with criminals becomes something that may give him away. The third season of Hannibal saw the two leads embrace and fall into the ocean. You never find out whether they survive or die.

Earl in the hospital after getting run over by a car in My Name Is Earl.

2My Name Is Earl

My Name Is Earl has an interesting premise where the main character, Earl, decides to right all his wrongs after he’s hit by a car. Earl believes he needs to correct his karma and will be rewarded for it. You see him perform various tasks to accumulate good karma. These range from giving his lottery winnings to someone else to going to jail for someone else’s crime.

Season four reveals that only one of his two sons is biologically his, raising multiple questions and suggesting his wife Joy had an affair. The answer to the identity of Earl Jr.’s biological father may have been answered in season five, but the show was untimely canceled.

Peggy Carter and Howard Stark in Agent Carter.

1Agent Carter

Marvel’s Agent Carter was a spin-off of the popularCaptain America: The First Avenger. The show saw Peggy Carter, introduced in the first Captain America movie, working at the SSR and helping Howard Stark, who MCU fans will recognize asIronman’sfather. Howard finds himself framed for supplying weapons to enemies. This makes up for much of season one’s story, with Agent Carter taking on threats in a bid to clear Stark’s name.

In Agent Carter’s second season, Peggy moves to Los Angeles to protect the world from a new threat. The second season’s last episode ended with an unknown assailant shooting a named colleague of Peggy’s before stealing and running off with her file. If season 3 had been released, you would have seen Peggy take on the new threat, but the show was canceled without clearing things.
