Summary
The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remasteredhas already managed to beat its previous concurrent player count onSteamover the weekend as more and more people spend their days revisiting Cyrodil.
From the moment it was first rumoured thatOblivion would be getting a remake or remaster that was planned to shadowdrop early this year, it was clear to everyone it was going to be a big deal. The excitement surrounding the project only grew as time went on and the rumours got spicier, all the way up to the remaster outright leaking through Virtuos' website.

That all culminated with a huge announcement from Bethesda and a subsequent shadowdrop that seems to havetaken over anyone who isn’t playing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 right now. The response to Oblivion Remastered has been almost universally positive so far, and that’s shown by how many players it’s dragged back to the glory days of 2005.
Oblivion Remastered Has Hit A New Player Count Of More Than 200,000 Players On Steam
That’s A Lot Of People Running Around As The Hero Of Kvatch
Pretty much as soon as Oblivion Remastered went up for sale on Steam following its announcement on Tuesday, its player count was immediately impressive. In fact, as we previously reported,it had the second-biggest single-player launch on Steam in 2025, peaking at around 182,298 players at one time.
Considering the shadowdrop happened on a random Tuesday, it was pretty clear that the number of concurrent players would increase even further as we hit the weekend and more players have time to spend in Cyrodil. As pointed out by Twitter user Okami13_, that is indeed the case, as the player count has now reached more than 205,000 players concurrently on Steam.

According to SteamDB,the new player count record for The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered is 205,499 players, which happened around 18 hours ago as of the time of writing. That’s another 23,201 Steam users jumping into Oblivion Remastered at the same time, which is impressive for a 20-year-old game that randomly got remade.
That’s just one console base too,as Bethesda has recently revealed that more than four million playershave now jumped into Oblivion Remastered.

While it’s unlikely that number will rise much more now that the weekend is nearly at an end,Oblivion Remastered still has a massive player count of more than 145,000 players right now, so it’s clearly still keeping a lot of people’s attention. If nothing else, it’s proof that hunger for a new Elder Scrolls is just as strong as it’s always been.
