The Thieves Guild is one of a select few factions you may choose to join inThe Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. Fans of stealth gameplay and roleplaying as Robin Hood can make use of their talents to earn some coin and, with persistence, some of the game’s strongest stealth items.

One of the first quests you’ll receive from the Thieves Guild is “The Elven Maiden.” You’re given a simple task to steal a bust from a nearby chapel, but things quickly go awry for the guild. Find the bust, bring down the heat on the guild, and uncover who set up this rigged contract.

How To Start The Elven Maiden

“The Elven Maiden” is a quest you’ll unlock as part of theThieves Guild questline.Thieves Guild questlineTo unlock this specific quest, you’ll need tofence 100 Gold worth of items and complete the “Untaxing the Poor” quest, also available from the Thieves Guild. Once you hit both requirements, speak to Armand Christophe in the Imperial City Waterfront district after midnight.

Steal Llathasa’s Bust

Armand has received word that the Thieves Guild has been hired to steal a unique statuette in the undercroft of Cheyhindal’s local chapel. Make your way to the central chapel in Cheyhindal and sneak into the undercroft. AnAverage lockprotects the door that leads to the undercroft, so have some lockpicks ready.

Once inside,hug the wall to your left. It’ll wrap around to an adjacent tomb with Llathasana’s Bust lying in plain sight. Beware thataguardis patrolling the undercroft, so try your best not to get caught.Chameleonand Invisibility spells go a long way here. Once you have the bust, return to the Waterfront.

Locate Armand

Something has gone wrong with this contract. The Imperial Legion has caught wind of the Thieves Guild’s contract and is out for Armand’s arrest.Look around the Waterworks district for a local Thieves Guild member to speak with.you may typically find Methredhel near Armand’s usual spot.

Upon speaking with her, you’ll learn that Armand has been set up by a mole in the organization. Methredhel believes it’s Myvryna Arano, a newer member of the guild.You’ll need to frame the heist on Myvrynato clear Armand’s heat with law enforcement.

Frame Myvryna Arano

Myvryna Arano’s residence is right next to where Armand usually sets up camp at night. Enter Myvryna’s house undetected andinteract with the cupboard next to her bed.You hardly have to move to reach the cupboard, so don’t worry about this step if your Stealth or Illusion skills are low. Just be sure she doesn’t spot you.

Once you’re done, head back outside and look forHieronymus Lex.He’s the one who set a bounty on Armand’s head. You’ll need to convince him that Myvryna has the bust so he’ll perform a search and seizure on her property.You must get to at least 70 influence with Lex for him to believe you. Either bribe him or play the persuasion minigame to get on his good side.

Speak about the bust once your reputation is high enough. Follow him inside, watch the sequence play out, then leave the property once Myvryna is arrested.

Return To Armand

Now that the mole has been dealt with, Armand is safe to reveal himself again.Return to Armand’s usual spot at midnight to collect your reward.He’ll offer thanks for taking care of Myvryna and award a small sum of gold. You will also be promoted to the rank ofBanditwithin the Thieves Guild, unlocking access to another fence in Leyawiin.
