Why is such a highly requested console coming to NSO strange, you ask? Wind Waker HD Still Has A Chance Of Being Ported To The Switch 2

Just Don’t Get Your Hopes Up Again

With Wind Waker now being playable on the Switch 2 in some capacity, that left many thinking thatthe dream of the HD release being ported over was dead. That doesn’t seem to be the case so far, though, as a Nintendo representative revealed at a recent preview event that “all options are on the table” when it comes to Wind Waker and other similar cases.

As pointed out by Twitter user Genki_JPN, the latest episode of Kinda Funny Games Daily has a section where the team discusses an article revealing more details about the possibility of Mother 3 ever being ported. After that,Tim Gettys notes that he also had the chance to speak to a Nintendo representative at the Switch 2 event, where he asked about Wind Waker being on NSO.

I did ask if having The Wind Waker on NSO percludes it from the Switch 2 getting the actual Wii U port at some point, and he was very quick to say “no, all options are on the table”. Obviously, nothing is confirmed one way or another. - Tim Gettys

The representative told Gettys that, although nothing is confirmed right now, that “all options” are on the table for Wind Waker, and that there are multiple examples of games being released on NSO and through other formats. It’s not much to go off of right now, but it does make Wind Waker HD seem a little more likely than it did after that reveal.
