Lego rekindled its relationship with The Lord Of The Rings in 2023via the release of a Rivendell set. Just shy of 5,500 pieces with a $460 price tag.
That means the upcoming Shire set is less than half the size in terms of both price and size, so even though it’s still pretty expensive, it’s the most affordable Lord of the Rings set of the modern era by quite some way. Lego appears to be releasing new Lord of the Rings sets at a rate of one per year, its Shire set the third in three years, and all of them releasing at roughly the same time each year. Last year’s Barad-dur setcame with a smaller Fellbeast set for a limited time. Hopefully The Shire set will come with a free set too.
Today has been a big one for expensive leaked Lego sets that Lego itself isn’t quite ready to officially reveal.A new Mario Kart setsimilar in size to the Shire one found its way online thanks to a listing going live too early.
