Jack Black and Jason Momoa are feeling positive heading into Minecraft’s worldwide premiere
“I think everyone needs to escape a little bit right now," Momoa says ahead of the premiere. “It’s nice to sit back and have a really fun adventure and giggle and laugh.
“We won’t let you down. We worked our ass off for you, and I think we brought the world to life. I think everybody’s gonna love it,” he continues, before making it clear that a sequel is possible. “There’s so much more to tell; I just hope the fans will be delighted and let us make more.”
Jack Black shares a similar sentiment about the film - and how it’s what everyone needs to watch right now. “We’ve got to work together, my God. There’s so much violence and war and hatred,” says Black. “And that’s what I love about this movie - there’s a lot of love in it and there’s a lot of creativity. There is some anger and violence too, but in the end it’s about friendship and working together to make [the world] a better place.”
This is quite the tall order for a film that fans haveoverwhelmingly not liked the look ofsinceits reveal. It seems that many believe that live-action just wasn’t the right direction for a Minecraft adaptation, since the characters in-game share the same blocky artstyle. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see what fans make of it all when it’s in cinemas.
