Finding your niche in thePokemon TCGcan be difficult, especially as prices continue to soar across the board, fromsets featuring all-time favorite Pokemon like Rayquaza, tovaluable Trainers, like Cynthia.Even some of the best Double Rare cards in the Pokemon TCG continue to climb upward, perhaps evading notice as more popular cards claim the spotlight.

However, whether you’ve noticed it or not, a select few unusual Double Rare Pokemon cards are carving out an impressive niche in the Pokemon TCG market. While none of the prices have swelled into the triple digits just yet, there’s reason to believe that these cards will become more desirable due to their scarcity.

The Double Rare Greninja ex GameStop Metal card from the Pokemon TCG.

Cards are ordered according to their Market Prices onTCGplayer.Any cards without a Market Price are not included.

6Greninja ex: Gamestop Metal Card (Double Rare) – $21.95

Carrying A Burden

Even if you’re already acquainted withwhere to find some of the best Greninja cards ever, you might not recognize this unusual metal card, which was distributed as a GameStop-exclusive promo card in their Greninja ex Premium Collection, which featured 16 packs along with this etched metal promo card.

While the MSRP of that product was set at about $120, this promo card will get you over $20 back alone, not to mention the 16 booster packs included, which make up the rest of the cost. As with most of the best Double Rare cards, this Greninja is sought after due to its exclusivity to this rare sealed product.

The Teal Mask Ogerpon ex Double Rare from the Pokemon TCG.

5Teal Mask Ogerpon ex: Prize Pack Series (Double Rare) – $24.33

No Hiding Anymore

Teal Mask Ogerpon ex is frequently forgotten in favor of other Pokemon, even invaluable sets like Twilight Masquerade, which are supposed to feature this legendary creature. Despite this Pokemon’s fairly tame pricing and nonexistent demand for its normal ex, it’s surprising to see Teal Mask Ogerpon among the most expensive Double Rare cards.

However, as we’ve learned fromthe most valuable Prize Pack Series cards, sometimes artwork that usually doesn’t gain much traction when released in its normal set will become more popular as a Prize Pack pull, as is the case here.

The Double Rare Dragapult ex from the Pokemon TCG.

4Dragapult ex: Prize Pack Series (Double Rare) – $24.82

A Deserving Dragon

Dragapult follows in Ogerpon’s footsteps, as yet another Twilight Masquerade Prize Pack Series card to make its mark among the best Double Rare cards in the Pokemon TCG. However, while most of these cards don’t boast strong valuations in their base forms, exclusivity works wonders in increasing the price.

When Twilight Masquerade first released, this card’s base version was among the most valuable cards in the set. Therefore, it makes sense to see the Prize Pack Series version of this card commanding a solid price.

The Double Rare Fezandipiti ex from the Pokemon TCG.

As a beloved fan-favorite, Dragapult’s spot is warranted, especially considering the strong demand that this card commanded as a regular inclusion in Twilight Masquerade. However, not all Double Rare cards boast popular Pokemon to go with impressive price tags.

3Fezandipiti ex: Prize Pack Series (Double Rare) – $32.70

A Shocking Addition

One surprising Pokemon that earns a spot as one of the most expensive Double Rare Pokemon cards is Fezandipiti, who debuted alongside Okidogi and Monkidori to lukewarm receptions. Considering that this trio’s debut was one of the biggest flops for any Legendary Pokemon, you might be shocked to see Fezandipiti commanding such a strong price.

However, this card’s debut is too recent to glean much information from this card’s sales history thus far. Given that these cards typically fall in price immediately following release, Fezandipiti’s time among the top Double Rare cards might be short-lived, but only time will tell.

The Double Rare Mew ex from the Pokemon TCG.

2Mew ex: Prize Pack Series (Double Rare) – $38.02

Aiming For The Top Spot

Unlike Fezandipiti, Mew has been around since the beginning of the Pokemon TCG, and boasts one of the best rosters of cards. This beautiful artwork might not be amongthe most valuable cards in Scarlet & Violet: 151,but it still stands out thanks to the gorgeous, bright colors and Mew’s longstanding popularity.

One look at this card will visually set it apart from anything we’ve seen thus far and give this Mew a legitimate shot to be the most expensive Double Rare card ever made, once the dust settles. However, there’s another unusual Pokemon that claims the crown from this original.

The Double Rare Jumbo Stellar Crown Terapagos ex from the Pokemon TCG.

1Terapagos ex: Stellar Crown (Jumbo Cards) – $39.95

Enlarged And Stamped

Terapagos snatches the crown as the most valuable Double Rare chase card, thanks to this Jumbo card’s swol price tag. However, unlike Fezandipiti, this card’s value is holding firm due to its incredible rarity, rather than its relatively recent release.

This version of Terapagos ex typically features a ‘Stellar Crown’ stamp in the bottom right corner of the jumbo card’s artwork.

You won’t find many sales of this card to analyze on TCGplayer, as this card was only available from the Terapagos ex Ultra-Premium Collection, making it an exclusive release that wasn’t widely opened. Given the lack of hype surrounding the product this card hails from, there are few sales, but the price may change when more copies exchange hands.
