However, there are times when characters seem incredible but are actually some of the weakest characters on the show.
Yes, they don’t have powers. In some cases they might not seem important either. That doesn’t mean they’re just occupying space though. They can change the world or motivate the right person at the right time. It just depends on how you look at it.

Powers That Depend On The Enemy
My Hero Academia hasplenty of top-tier quirksspread out amongst the characters. From blowing up structures to altering gravity itself, these kids are all going to be heroes someday. Neito Monoma stands out due to his ability to copy any quirk.
While this seems incredibly useful, it comes with a fatal flaw. Neito Monoma must come into physical contact with the quirk user he wants to mimic. This pretty much makes him the weakest quirk user, since he can’t activate his own powers on his own.
9Mumen Rider - One Punch Man
A Dedicated Cyclist
Mumen Rider is a good example of how power isn’t everything. Part of the One Punch Man series, Mumen Rider has no extraordinary powers. He can’t climb on walls, fly, or punch holes in walls. What he does have is a bicycle, charisma, and a determination to do good.
This is enough to make him one of the best C Rank heroes in One Punch Man. He uses his bike to lend assistance to anyone who may be in need. This alone makes him a powerless yet powerful hero.

Who is the strongest fighter in the universe? It’s Monaka! This character arrives for the tournament of power, hiding secret abilities that no one has ever seen or even knows about. What is his power? The ability to motivate Goku to train harder.
Yes, Monaka is secretly the weakest character in the entire series. Even Mr. Satan could toss him around. However, the fact that Goku believes he is the greatest is enough to inspire him to train harder, even if Monaka never really does anything.
7Reigen - Mob Psycho 100
One Hundred Percent Charisma, Zero Percent Power
If power levels were measured by charisma alone, Reigen would be on the list of the strongest anime characters. Despite Mob’s belief that Reigen is a powerful esper who can help him control his own abilities, Reigen is a fraud with a silver tongue and a heart of gold.
Despite being so weak, Reigen is still a wonderful character due to the care he gives Mob. No matter how hard Reigen tries to be a slimy conman, every action he takes reveals that he is just genuinely a good guy and the type of mentor that Mob needs.

Digimon is full of fearsome monsters. Luckily, some of them are on your side to fend off the others that are invading Earth. Digimon Tamers is a darker show than the ones that came before it, but also introduces a lovable little guy in the form of Calumon.
Calumon can help Digimon Digivolve, but he’s constantly getting into trouble. He has no actual moves to defend himself and often relies on others to bail him out. Calumon is the equivalent of a living McGuffin. Bad Digimon want to kidnap him while the heroes want to save him.
5Rex Raptor And Weevil Underwood - Yu-Gi-Oh!
From Champions To Chumps
No other characters have gone through a bigger downward spiral than Rex Raptor and Weevil Underwood. At the start of the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime, these two are considered champions of Duel Monsters. However, after the Duelist Kingdom arc, they become the butt of every joke.
They can’t duel without cheating in some way, and even then, they’ll still lose. Even their reputation has taken a nosedive across the world, as no one takes them seriously. In a world where your power is determined by how good you are at a card game, these two have been majorly powercrept.

The Weakest Stand User
Stand usersare some of the more powerful characters in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. Even having tiny stands that can collect coins can be useful if used correctly. However, there is one stand user in the entirety of Jojo whose stand actively harms the user with no benefit. This is Holly Joestar.
Kids can have stands. Dogs, Birds, and Cats can develop stands. However, for this mom, a stand is just too much to bear as it leaves her incapacitated during the 50-day adventure of Stardust Crusaders.
3Buggy - One Piece
The Luckiest Pirate Ever
Buggy is one of those pirates who hasa pretty interesting Devil Fruit power. With the Chop Chop Fruit, he can dismember his own body and control each part individually. After his first introduction, Buggy drops off in terms of power but still manages to maintain relevance.
He does this by being in the right place at the right time, even being able to rise above his own station in the aftermath of the Marineford War. Regardless, Buggy is rarely a real threat, with his base powers never growing in the same way as Luffy’s.
2Light Yagami - Death Note
Take The Book Away And He Has Nothing
It’s important to note that Light Yagami is a weak character when you take the Death Note away. Being able to write down the names of those he wishes to eliminate makes Light seem like a god with limitless power. This is also something he wants to become through his actions.
However, at the end of the day, he is just a corrupt human. He loses, because that’s all he ever was. Without the notebook, Light cannot defend himself from the police. Whether you prefer the manga ending or the anime ending, he still goes out like any other person he has judged.

Weak But Talented
Team Rocket are considered the weakest Pokemon trainers in the anime. After meeting Ash and becoming obsessed with capturing Pikachu, they spend the next 20 years coming up with harebrained schemes to steal it.
These schemes include robots, disguises, traps, and so much more. However, what they rarely realize is that they actually have talent and untapped potential. They can be great at business, building things, and even saving the day occasionally. So are they weak? Sure, but they are far from talentless.
