While character creators were made for players to insert themselves into their favorite games, some gamers much prefer to make abominations and recreations of other characters using the tools the creator gives. This has resulted in wild trends where people attempt to create the wackiest characters using the limited tools they have.
Thanks to social media platforms, we have been able to share and laugh as many gamers all across the globe share their creations for our eyes to witness their horrors. These creations have been the highlights of many games, and we can never look down on a game that lets us create whoever and whatever we dream of.

Bethesda may just be the monarchs of viral character creators, so many of its titles have fans pouring hours into making their serious protagonists into a comical gold mine even since the early days of the internet. None stands out as much as Fallout 4’s release did, though, with the now iconic character creator being home to thousands of one-of-a-kind creations.
While the options were a lot more limited than what we have now in gaming, players were still able to push the tools to their limits and create some masterpiece characters that are now iconic to the game and its identity by grabbing and pulling their character’s face around. When going back to replay Fallout 4, we can’t help but now also mess around with the character creator to create a silly character instead of a serious one, thanks to the creations of the past.

Half the Commonwealth is scared of Deathclaws. The other half are terrified of these creations.
Cyberpunk 2077 strives to give players an immersive futuristic world based on the Cyberpunk series and, despite the game being played in first-person, there is an in-depth character creator. With detailed options that can be tweaked using sliders, players instantly tried creating some hyperrealistic versions of their favorite characters with little success, but some refused to give up and just editedthem into screenshots of the game, leading to a trend.

WIth some questionable customization options such as genitalia selection, every character was a recipe for the perfect cursed social media posts, but the limitations held the masterpieces back. While Cyberpunk’s launch may have been rocky, the character creator, despite being rough, helped make light of a bad situation and brought even more eyes onto the game.

Fighters Beyond Your Comprehension
The fighting game genre has one of the best uses of character creators out there, with you being able to craft your own perfect fighter as you see fit. WhenSoul Calibur 6launched, fans sawthe endless potentialits freeing creation tools had and ran wild with things that we can’t even describe.
With plenty of clothing, hair, body, and face options, you can create whoever and whatever you want and pit them up against another marvelous creation. Fans saw their chances and used the robust tools provided to create such wacky ideas as Pickle Rick, Sans, and some of their frightening creations that the entire internet could not take their eyes off.

In the midst of the wait forThe Elder Scrolls VI,Bethesda randomly shadow-dropped a highly requested remaster of one of their beloved titles with The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. This remaster had fans going wild, and since the game is known to have a detailed character creator, fans took it upon themselves to design and create the worst characters for each and every race and share them all over the modern web.
With how iconic Oblivion already was prior to the remaster for its “distinctive” character creator, players were more than ready to use the now greatly improved creator to design some equally iconic characters of their own to adventure around Cyrodiil. With more precise options being added, this character creator is much better than the original, and it encourages fans to make the silliest faces and most bizarre creations.

While not containing a character creator, but instead more of a creature creator, we couldn’t not include this cult classic on this list. Spore is a real-time strategy title focused around creating your own creature and developing it. While it predates most social media platforms, its wacky creature creator has maintained a tiny but strong presence to this day.
From recreating iconic video game creatures to out-of-date memes, Spore has boundless potential in an unmarked territory of silly creature creation options. It does has limited tools to work with, but that’s what makes the final product that much more hilarious, as players have to do their best to make the creatures look somewhat like what they want them to, creating horrors in the process only for them to then grow into an entire race of creatures with baby scaled versions and all.

A serious game such as Dragon’s Dogma 2 always leaves a ton of room for chaotic player antics, the second they lay eyes upon a character creator, changing the tone into their own blend of serious and dumb fun. Capcom did something smart with this title as it allowed players to create their characters before the game was released, causing the game to go viral before release as fans started sharing the"interesting" charactersthey had prepared for their quest.
While it doesn’t have the most dynamic tools to create the perfect replica of Handsome Squidward you may want, the limited tools of the creator made every character that much more fun to see how the players managed to make them look questionable. Where Dragon’s Dogma 2 mostly saw its viral success was in the body department, as many fans would create characters with disproportionate bodies that looked more horrifying than the actual enemies.

The most viral character creators tend to be the ones that have the characters appearing in the most amusing of situations, and nowhere is that more common than in realistic sports games. One of the best has to be the WWE 2K series, with nearly every entry seeing hundreds of strange characters getting ready to rumble against real super slam stars.
WWE 2K22, in particular, featured a viral presence that had many in awe at the absolute chaotic fun its character creator allows you to get away with and seeing your creations fight in-game made it even more comical. There’s just something inherently hilarious about seeing two equally as strange characters duke it out by poorly wrestling one another and being hyped up by a crowd and announcer.

Expanding what a Monster Hunter game could be, Monster Hunter Wilds pushed the series forward while keeping the elements that worked best, of course, including the character creator. What’s great about this series is that whenever it covers our feeds in particular, is that it was not just people sharing their cursed characters, but also their cute Palico companions being equally as strange.
Even with the previous installments of the series, such as withMonster Hunter World, we have always had an influx of players sharing their wonderful characters, and thanks to the wider variety in Wilds, these were even more impressive than before. No Monster Hunter game would be complete without us being able to create characters resembling dead memes and Palicos cosplaying variousPokemon.

Outside of being known as one of the best open-world games of all time, what helped Elden Ring grow such a massive audience was the explosion of character creator images that flooded social media sites in 2022. Before you start your grand quest, players have to create their character, and many choose to make them as strange as can be.
With how popular the game was at launch, it’s no surprise that many players took it upon themselves to use the game’s detailed options to make their characters into wonderful creations. From this, we had our eyes blessed with character-inspired creations, such as the Ninja Turtles or the Grinch, as well as plenty of original ones that have left a permanent mark on our minds. Tarnished? More like terrifying.

The Street Fighter series has given gaming some of its most beloved icons, but with Street Fighter 6, we finally got to create our own legends with its custom fighter creator. This feature was a welcome addition that allowed players to customize their own character with way too many sliders and options that led to image after image of players' characters filling our feeds.
People were not just recreating other characters with this creator but instead making the most out-of-proportioned original characters. Since the sliders allow for customization of pretty much any body part, players created characters who skipped training for every muscle but one. When in a match, fighting against legendary characters, these custom characters always look hilariously out of place, like the game has corrupted their model.
