Rusty Rabbitis a 2D Action-Adventure Platformer developed by Nitro Plus and published by SoFun, and it takes you on a journey with, you guessed it, a rabbit. His name is Stamp, and he gets introduced as soon as you start the game. After a small dialogue, you enter the dungeons with Stamp and Junkster.

The story revolves around Stamp digging deeper into Smokestack Mountain and finding the truth about his existence. There are quite a few tricks that you can use in this game to make your gameplay more immersive and easier, and you don’t have to go out of your way to use them.

Some Areas Are Inaccessible At Start

As you’re going through the different dungeons in Rusty Rabbit, you’ll notice that the map is divided into various regions with each having their specific name. Anew region is unlocked once you trigger the teleport point at the end of the region before, and you’ll also get a chance to go back to the surface in between these.

However, even after you get to progress to further regions, there will besome parts of a specific region that you won’t be able to access until late game. These are usually locked behind a certain Junkster ability or a specific type and rarity of weapon that you have to craft.

When it’s the latter, you’ll see Stamp on the bottom leftsaying that you need a different weapon or more power.

In these cases, your only option is to progress the story as you’ll unlock most of your abilities during it. For some weapon blueprints, however, you’ll have to take part in some specific game modes.

You Can Get Skill Points From Other Sources

After progressing through the dungeons for just a bit, you’ll unlock the skill tree, which is constantly available as a separate tab in the main menu. Itcontains various skills that range from helping you in combat by upgrading your healthand defense to making your exploration faster.

However, you need a bunch of skill points to upgrade these skillsother than a few specific requirements for each one. As you’d expect, one way to get skill points is by increasing your level, which happens as you progress the game, break blocks, and defeat enemies.

Whenever you defeat a boss, you’ll usually get two skill points in one gosince you get enough EXP for two levels.

Other than that, you may also get skill points bycompleting bar requests found at the top of Smokestack Mountain. These requests involve defeating certain enemies, crafting items, and submitting resources that you get during exploration. Some of them can give you one skill point every time you finish them, making this a good source of skill points.

Choose The Right Option At The Diner

When you’re at the top of Smokestack Mountain, you can go to the right edge with Stamp to find the Diner building. When you enter it,you’ll find various customers waiting for you to strike up a conversation with them. You can do two types of conversations in this Diner:

At the end of the Hay Capsule conversation, you get two types of rewards. One reward is the same regardless of how the conversation goes, but theother reward, called the tags, is different based on the option you chose. You can get a bronze, silver, or gold tag for your choice.

The main use for these tags is to sell them to an NPC,but the price for each rarity is vastly different. Therefore, it’s important to pay attention to the conversation and choose the correct option.

Don’t Sell Or Dismantle Items At Start

Talking about selling stuff, you can do this at either theGeneral Store or the Hardware Store where you can find Jed. You get the option to sell your special items like heals or effect removers and junk. However, it’s recommended not to sell either of these since the former helps you in exploration and the latter helps with crafting.

The main items you’ll be selling to get money is, as mentioned above, the tags you get from Diner conversations. Similarly, you may dismantle the weapons you craft in Stamp’s home, and it’s abig part of the game since each weapon can get different abilities when you craft them.

Abilities like increased power are good for swords and guns, whereasyou’d want cooldown reduction on your drill.

However, it’srecommended not to sell or dismantle any item whatsoever in the early game. At the start, you’re able to earn a ton of money from bar requests and get crafting resources while exploring, and if you look at the skill tree, there are specific abilities to make your selling and dismantling better.

The former skill gives you increased money while selling and the latter increases the junk you get from dismantling. It’simportant to get both these upgrades before you start selling or dismantlingyour items since they’ll significantly increase the resources you get in return.

Focus On The Right Skills

Moving over to the skill tree, one look at it and you’ll realize that you have a lot of options. You do get skill points quite rapidly in the early game, but it’s still important to conserve them for the right abilities. When you first unlock the tree, you’ll easily be able to unlock all the available skills since most of them are locked behind requirements.

Once you do that, you should conserve your points and decide which skills you want first. For example, the big seller ability on the bottom left is quite good for increasing your selling price. But also,if you’re having trouble surviving in the dungeons, you can focus on EN, DEF, and additional part slot upgrades at the top first.

You Can Recharge Stamina Mid-Air

This tip containsspoilers about the abilities you unlock, and you can skip past this one if you don’t want to be spoiled about it.

When you play the first dungeon in Rusty Rabbit, Junkster will be in good shape and you’ll be able to use all its abilities. However, these gettaken away from you after the first dungeon, and you get them back slowly. Two of these abilities are thrusters and grapple, and you use them both often after getting them.

The big thing about thrusters is that they consume your stamina quickly. While you can increase the timeyou can use them for with certain abilities in the skill tree, it might feel too little in some cases still. In these cases, you can use a special mechanic to recharge your stamina at any point.

We’re not sure if this is an intended mechanic, sothere’s a chance that it might get removedwith a hotfix.

After using all your stamina with thrusters and once you have the grapple unlocked, you can use it to stick to one of the surrounding walls. If you successfully reach a wall with the grapple, your stamina instantly gets regenerated and you can continue this process until you reach your destination.

Don’t Submit All Bar Requests Instantly

Whenever you come back to the surface after digging for a while in Smokestack Mountain, you’ll commonly find a bunch of finished quests in the bar. However, it’s recommended not to finish all of them. Some of these questsrequire you to submit junk to get the rewards, but junk is also crucial for crafting.

If you submit all the quests instantly, you’ll find yourselfmissing important junk parts like Alternator or Power Motoras you attempt to craft high-tier equipment. To prevent this, it’s recommended to have at least 20 excess parts of a certain junk before you submit them.

Use Different Additional Parts For Each Situation

Finally, while this won’t have much effect during the main story if you get used to the mechanics, switching out your additional parts can lead to abig difference in endgame modes like Random Dungeon or Rust Beast Index. You have limited additional part slots with a lot of abilities to choose from.

For example, if you’re digging in normal mode, you can use the partsthat reduce the effect of Impair, Stall, and Power Leakage. This will help you use your time efficiently. On the other hand, when you’re about to enter a boss fight, you can switch these parts to EN, DEF, or Power upgrades.
