Chief among the information is that a PSN account isn’t required, something that has previously drawn the ire of fans, leading to negative reviews in the case of Horizon Zero Dawn, as well asan entire debacle with Helldivers 2. Rather,Sony is attempting to incentivize users to sign-up for an account by offering in-game goodies, thoughas was seen in Spider-Man 2, a mod managed to bypass the requirement to get the unlocks for free.

Elsewhere, there will be new content for the No Return mode.

New Maps, New Characters

As part of the new additions coming to the PC release, both Bill and Marlene will become playable characters in the No Return mode. Bill is a “Smuggler” character, who will have access to a pump shotgun and double rewards, while Marlene, a “Risk Taker,” will have a custom assault rifle.

Beyond the two playable characters, four new maps will also be added. Among the four maps are Overlook, School, Streets and Nest. Naughty Dog touts that all four should be very familiar to players who’ve gone through the campaign. As a final note, the new content will make its way to PlayStation 5 users via Patch 2.0.0, of which bug fixes, along with new Trophies, will also be included.
