Summary
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 + 4’s reveal earlier this yearwas a big surprise to many, and there was a lot of excitement over potentially revisiting some of those classic Tony Hawk games we all grew up with. Unfortunately, a lot of the excitement was then ruined by the reveal thatthe game wouldn’t include Pro Skater 4’s free roam career mode.
Instead, the game will include a “streamlined” career mode, in which players have two minutes to complete challenges. It was a major blow to many fans, though Activision seems to now be doing its best to verify the entire situation is as confusing as possible, as it appears to have rubbished its own comments and confirmed career mode after all.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 + 4 Will Have Career Mode After All
Maybe? Who knows right now?
In an official tweet from the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Twitter account, Activision seems to hit back at claims over the lack of a career mode with a short trailer with the caption “Who said there’s no career”. From the outside, that looks like Activision directly addressing concerns over the missing free roam career mode, though the video does nothing to clear things up.
In the video, we can see the classic Skate letters, but there’s also a timer that appears very briefly in one of the clips. That timer is going up rather than down though, and the whole thing is a confusing mess that doesn’t give us a definitive answer one way or another. One Twitter user called xFL1PPYxreckons it’s an attempt to “gaslight a positive reaction” by redefining the term career mode for the remaster.

All of this confusion would vanish if Activision would just clearly explain what the game does and doesn’t include from the originals, so hopefully we get some more clear communication from either them or Iron Galaxy before release later this year. It launches on July 11 later this year, so there’s plenty of time for some clarification.
