Pokemon Gohas been hostingCommunity Day eventssince nearly the beginning of the app’s history, hosting both Community Days and Community Day Classics. Community Day events feature a specific Pokemon, drastically increasing the spawn rate of that Pokemon, and greatly increasing its chances of being Shiny.
For April 2025, the Community Day will feature Vanillite,taking place onSunday, Jul 17, 2025, from 2pm local time to 5pm local time.In addition to this Community Day featuring Vanillite, there will be several bonuses available to take advantage of during this event; read on for all you need to know about this year’s April Community Day.
Featured Pokemon: Vanillite
Vanillite will be featured for the April 2025 Community Day.This means that during the three hours of this event, you will see Vanillite’sspawn rate significantly increased, typically being the only Pokemon available to catch in the wild during these hours.
As with any Community Day, the main benefit that comes with the featured Pokemon is theirincreased odds of being Shinywhen encountered in the wild. These odds will be significantly increased, giving you great chances of encountering and catching this rare Shiny Pokemon.
Vanillite has two further evolutions:Vanillish and Vanilluxe. To evolve Vanillite into Vanillish, it will require25 Vanillite Candy, then another100 Vanillite Candyto evolve Vanillish into Vanilluxe. Vanillite Candy can be obtained by catching, transferring, or hatching Vanillite, Vanillish, and Vanilluxe.
Make sure toMega Evolve a Pokemon that is an Ice-typeduring this Community Day.
Doing so willincrease the Candy earned when catching different Vanilliteduring this event.
Featured Attack: Avalanche
AFeatured Attackis a specific attack that a Pokemon can learn, typically only under specific circumstances. Community Day events give you the opportunity to acquire a Pokemon with a Featured Attack, requiring you to evolve the Community Day Pokemon to its final evolution.
For the April 2025 Community Day, the Featured Attack will be the Charged AttackAvalanche. To obtain this Featured Attack, you will need toevolve Vanillish into Vanilluxe, during this event or up until July 20, 2025, at 10pm local time.
Following this event, you can teach Vanilluxe the move Avalancheusing an Elite Charged TM.

Event Research
Community Day Special Research
You will have the option of purchasing Community Day Special Research for this event, available at the Pokemon Go in-game shop for$2.00 USD. Those who purchase this Special Research will unlock in-game tasks to complete, providing you with different rewards when completed.

Timed Research
There will also beTimed Researchavailable for this month’s Community Day, available during the event, and remaining available for a week following the end of this event. You will need to complete specific tasks for this Timed Research, rewarding you with anencounter with Vanillite that has a themed Special Background.
Vanillite encountered as a Timed Research reward will also haveincreased odds of being Shiny.
Event Field Research Tasks
You will also have the opportunity to obtain and complete differentEvent Field Research Tasks, acquired by visiting and spinning differentPokeStop Photo Discs. You will need to catch different Vanillite to complete these Field Research Tasks, rewarding you withVanillite encounters, Great Balls, and Stardust.
Vanillite caught as a Community Day Field Research Task encounter will have thechance of possessing a themed Special Background.
