Blue Princeis full of mysteries and secrets, and one of them is tied to the framed drawings that you’ll find in the rooms you draft while exploring Mt. Holly.

If you’re not sure how to deduce their meaning or how to start, this guide will tell you where to find the information you need.

Alcazar’s prophecy about the picture puzzle in Blue Prince.

How To Start The Picture Puzzle

You may have been prompted to look more closely at the art in each room because of a fortune told by Alcazar, who you will only find in the Rumpus Room. In one of the fortunes, he will tell you, “Just like the art hanging on the walls of these rooms, there is a letter missing…”

You may also draft the Study. Notes inside will reveal that every room in the house has a letter, and put together, they reveal a code.

How To Solve The Picture Puzzle Code

It’s best to have a pen and paper for this. Draw a grid of the floor plan, with nine rows and five columns. As you go through the house, compare the drawings in each room. The images they depict will be one letter apart. Note those letters down.

You will need all the letters to solve the code, which means getting up to rank nine.

Some examples of pairings are Stag and Tag, so the letter for that position would be S. The letters do not change from run to run, though your rooms in that position might.

Drawings may repeat from room to room, but the words they signify may be different. What is Bath in one room might be Tub in another.
