Every modern RPG has a max level cap that is set by the developers, andAssassin’s Creed Shadowsis no different. It stops players from over-levelling and becoming far too powerful for the enemies and quests in the game.

The max level cap in Assassin’s Creed Shadows not only impacts Naoe and Yasuke’s overall level and their stats, but it also impacts the level of your weapons and how much you can upgrade them. You can’t pump resources into your gear to make any individual pieces overly powerful.

Max Level Cap

Themax level cap in Assassin’s Creed Shadows is 60. That is the case for any piece of gear you equip for either character in the game, as well as your overall level.

you’re able to check your overall level, which is consistent across both characters, by heading to the inventory part of the Assassin’s Creed Shadows menu.

What weapons you can upgradedepends on the level of your Forge in the Hideout. When it has been upgraded to level three, you’ll be able to upgrade weapons beyond level 40 and up to level 60.

You will be able to get weapons and gear that are above your current level, but you won’t be able to equip them until you reach that level.

Quest Level Requirements

Every quest also has a recommended level requirement that you should at least be close to before tackling it. When on the Objectives section of the menu, you’ll see a number in a grey diamond or a red diamond in the top rightof the description.

That number is the recommended level for the quest, and is generally in line with the level of the enemies you’ll face during it. You’ll find quests with levels going all the way up to 60, but thestory quests generally don’t go above 35.
