You’ve started a new game inAtomfall. You’ve emerged from the bunker, and all of the Quarantine Zone lies ahead of you. All you have to go on are two clues; find the Interchange, and Oberon must die. Everything from here on out is up to you.
So what should you do? While there’s no correct order to explore in Atomfall, some sequences make the game much easier than others. If you find yourself at a loss for how to begin your adventure, try these recommended first steps while you get your bearings in the Zone.

Talk To Nat Buckshaw
Nat lives in a ruined cottagejust down the road to the left of the phone boxwhere you got the mysterious call about Oberon. He’s not hostile, and he has some basic information about the area. Talk to him to get your bearings, thenloot the ruins across the street from his houseto get some starting gear.
Get The Metal Detector
Before heading north to follow up on Nat’s leads,go back to the phone box and take the right-hand path. This will take you to the Slate Mine Caves, whereReg Stansfieldlives.
Check the crashed helicopter for an important note as well, andlook behind the waterfallfor some supplies.

Barter the looted weapons from defeated Outlaws to get theMetal Detector, which you can use to find hidden supplies throughout the game. Getting it right away means you won’t miss any caches that you pass.
There’s also another Bunker to explore on the bridge by the helicopter crash site; it has dangerous Ferals inside, so only go once you have a gun and some ammo, but looting the Bunker is a good way to get supplies and Training Stimulants.
Talk To Molly
Return to Nat’s house andfollow the road north. Turn east near the edge of the map to avoid the Outlaw camp (or sneak through it if you’re feeling brave) to findMolly Jowett’s trading campat the place Nat marked for you.
Molly usually has good things to offer, and will throw in extra information the first time you make a trade with her. We recommend buying theConcrete Bunker Keythe first time you visit her, as this unlocks theSewer Tunnels entrancewest of her camp. you may use the tunnels to quickly move between Slatten Dale, Wyndham Village, and Casterfell Woods.
Molly also has an Atom Battery and, occasionally, Skill Manuals for sale. She valuesMolotov Cocktails and Painkillershighly, so if you find any consider saving them to barter with her. The Atom Battery will be important later, so buy it when you can thenstore it in the Pneumatic Tubeat any Bunker so that it doesn’t take up space in your inventory.
Explore Wyndham Village
The entrance to Wyndham Village isjust northeast of Molly’s camp, and it’s not as dangerous as it sounds. While the village is occupied by authoritarian Protocol soldiers, they give newcomers the benefit of the doubt, so theywon’t attack you unless you start a fight or enter a restricted area.
There’s a lot to do in Wyndham, so be sure to visit the following locations:
From here on out, you’ll have plenty of leads to follow and areas to explore. Be sure to return to places you’ve previously visited often, especially to check for new stock at trader shops. Notes related to NPCs can alsoopen up new dialogue optionsthat progress the story and uncover secrets. Good luck!
