Are you in the market for a brand-new Iron Pickaxe inRunescape: Dragonwilds? You’ll need Blightwood, then - four, to be exact. And that’s not to say there aren’t other applications for this coveted material as well. Unfortunately, the acquisition of Blightwood will likely be the hardest step on your road to crafting that Iron Pickaxe. We’re here to help.
Here’s how to gather this precious material in great abundance, as well as what you ought to bear in mind before you set out to acquire it. You’ll be swimming in Blightwood in no time at all - perhaps not literally, but we digress.

How To Get Blightwood In Runescape: Dragonwilds
To get your hands on Blightwood, you’ll need to venture bravely into a more dangerous location than any other in Runescape: Dragonwilds' Early Access launch phase:Bloodblight Swamp.
Now, the thing about Bloodblight Swamp is thatyou’re going to have a hard time getting there early onin your adventure. It’s technically doable, butso many higher-leveled enemies stand in your wayon the route there that it’s seriously not worth the frustration of trying.
Which is fine, to be frank, as theIron Pickaxewhich you’re able to craft with Blightwood is rather overkill for early-hours gameplay; its strength isn’t needed for anything you’ll be mining for quite some time. Which isn’t to say it isn’t handy to have ASAP, but still!
In any case,to reach Bloodblight Swamp, you must head north fromBramblewood Valley, continue on through the relatively narrowWhispering Swamp, and when you’ve reachedFractured Plains, justhead east from there.
While you’re in Bloodblight Swamp, you’ll need tomitigate poison damage, as the place is (not too shockingly) quite rife with the stuff. For this, you’ve got to get your hands onAnti-Poison Potion.
Finding Blightwood is the easy part once you’ve made the trek to Bloodblight Swamp, asit’s available in large quantities all throughout the zone. Do note, you’ll need aBronze Axe(or better) in order to chop this resource, so don’t come unprepared!
