How Does Kata Work?

Each Kata teaches you combinations with different weapons, but you don’t have to equip these weapons. Once you start the Kata, it’llautomatically put the weapon in Yasuke’s hands and start giving you the commandsafter a bow. The commands for the Kata are divided into multiple groups.

Each group further has three to seven commands, and if you mess up even one of them, you’ll have to do the entire group again. So, if you mess up one of the starting commands, you can simply restart the group by using the button shownon the bottom left side of your screen.

The combinations shown by Kata can be quite useful when you enter a boss battle during assassinations, though they aren’t of much use outside of that.

The commands you get can range from the following:

Generally, the placement of certain buttons is fixed on the screen. For example, if you’re playing on a controller, you’ll always get RB/R1 on the top-right side, whichhelps you figure out which command you have just by looking at where it appears.
