While doing the prologue inAssassin’s Creed Shadows, Naoe’s father asks her to get to a certain Kofun and get an important box. While the Kofun you visit here is fairly simple as you can find the item as soon as you enter, the same can’t be said for the others you’ll find during your exploration.

You can find various Kofuns on the map, and these are great not only to get a ton of EXP and some Knowledge Points, but also legendary gear for both your characters. However, these can be particularly challenging as well.

What Are Kofuns?

Whenever you reach one of the above locations to find a Kofun, you’ll find anunderground entrance at the exact position of the marker on the map. As you enter through this, you’ll hardly be able to see anything, which is where the main difficulty of these Kofuns comes from.

You have to navigate your way through tiny paths and hidden gaps, sometimes evensolving various puzzles to get the final legendary chest in a Kofun. Each time you get one of these chests, you can get legendary gear, Knowledge Point, and 1,000 EXP.

Some Kofuns can only be entered and beaten by one of the characters, which meansyou’ll have to switch to either Naoe or Yasuke.
