Quick Links
The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remasteredfeatures a variety of unique quests that are quite challenging to complete if you don’t know where to go. The Pilgrimage quest can also be quite difficult to complete due to the lack of proper directions.
It is the first quest that you can take on as part of the Knights of the Nine DLC, and can be accessed right after completing the tutorial. As the quest’s name suggests, it requires you to locate and pray at the wayshrine of each deity, which can be found all over the imperial province.

How To Start The Pilgrimage Quest
Unlike many other quests, the Pilgrimage quest can be started immediately after escaping the imperial sewersfollowing the emperor’s death. You will still have totalk to any NPC to ask them about any rumors, and they will immediately tell you about the attack on the Chapel of Dibella in Anvil.
Upon further inquiry from the NPCs, you’ll discover the rumorsabout a certain Prophet who can be found outside the Chapel of Dibellain Anvil. You’ll be tasked with asking the Prophet about what happened during the attack on the Chapel.

As you head to Anvil, you’re able to easily spot theProphet outside the Chapel of Dibella. Talking to the Prophet will reveal more information about Umaril, Pelinal Whitestrake, and he’ll also tell you that the attack on the chapel was done by Umaril, who was dead, but not actually dead.
The Pilgrimage Quest Walkthrough
If you ask for more information about the attack on the Chapel, the Prophet will reveal to you that there is only one way to defeat Umaril, who has returned from the dead, and that is towield the Divine Crusader’s weaponry.
The Divine Crusader’s weaponry could only be wielded by Pelinal Whitestrake in the past, and now that he’s no more, no one can stop Umaril. Now, if you choose the dialogue option that states you’ll quest for the relics yourself, the Prophet will ask you a very important question: “Are you a worthy knight?”

If you answer anything other than that you’re not, and you have no claim to fame, the Prophet will simply say thatif you’re truly worthy, you’ll find the relics on your own in your journey. However, if you choose to say that you have no claim to fame, the Prophet will give you a map of the wayshrines.
Don’t be afraid to make the wrong dialogue choice here. The Prophet will repeatedly ask you the same question every time you inquire about the quest for the relics.

The Prophet will ask you topray at the wayshrine of each of the nine divines all across the imperial province, and if you’re truly worthy, you’ll receive a vision from the Gods. You can find the wayshrines map in your inventory in the miscellaneous section and use that to locate the shrines.
There is more than one wayshrine of each divine, but only one of them is marked on the wayshrine map. If you come across a wayshrine of a divine that you have yet to pray at, it will still progress the quest.
