After you’ve completed theBartender’s Favorite Meal MissioninDave the Diver’s Ichiban’s Holiday DLC, Ichiban and the Bartender will head home to Japan but will call you for some final parting words, including that Ichiban has lost his beloved baseball bat in the Blue Hole.

That means there’s a new Melee Weapon for Dave to get his hands on while diving, and it packs more of a punch than you might think. Here’s where to find it and how to use it.

Where To Find The Hero’s Bat

Ichiban tells you that he’s dropped his Baseball Bat in the depths of the Blue Hole, so that’s where you need to start - in the depths. Rather than diving all the way down, use the Mirror to travel to the Sea Peopleand exit their village on their left.

The Hero’s Bat will be buried in the ground with lightning static all around it, so it’s hard to miss.

If you’re lucky, the Hero’s Bat will be found to the left of the Sea People village entrance, but sometimes it can be found a little higher up. We’ve found itas low as 259.1 meters and as high as 206.8 meters. It doesn’t appear toalwaysbe available, so much like the rest of the Blue Hole, there’s an element of chance as to whether it’ll appear.

Once you’ve found it, you’ll have tograb it and try to swim away to drag it out, which triggers a sliding bar that you musttime your button press to hit as close to the red markas possible.

You might think that once you’ve found it once, the Hero’s Bat will join the rotation of possible Melee Weapons you’re able to find in yellow crates, but sadly that’s not the case. You will have to find it in the depths every time you want to use it.

How To Use THe Hero’s Bat

The Hero’s Bat does moderate damage when used normally, but the real charm is in its ranged attack.Hold down the attack button to charge up your attack, which then fires a projectile in the direction Dave is facing. Additionally, it has a100 percent chance to inflict Paralysis, making it handy for dealing with aggressive fish.
