The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remasteredfeatures an intriguing main story that can keep you hooked for hours. But certain parts of the main quests are pretty challenging to deal with, and figuring out the perfect way to deal with them isn’t easy at all.
The Spies main quest also features such instances where you have to look for a person with barely any clues. However, this guide will allow you to overcome any challenges that you may face during the quest and progress the main story.

How To Start The Spies Quest
The Spies quest can be started after raiding Dagon’s shrine andbringing the Mysterium Xarxes to Martin Septiminside the Cloud Ruler Temple. Martin will inform you that it will take him some time to decrypt the book, while you cantalk to Jauffre regarding some spiesaround the Cloud Ruler Temple.
You will then have to find Jauffre and ask him about the potential spies. He’ll tell you that the soldiers have reported seeing strangers outside the temple, and you shouldinquire with Steffanfor more information.

Talking to Steffan will reveal that spies are always present at theRune Stone near the temple at dusk, and he’ll ask you to deal with them.
Spies Quest Walkthrough
Follow the quest marker until you arrive at the Hestra Rune Stone. Now, you’ll have towait till 6 pm for the spy to show up. After waiting, you’ll find Jearl around the Rune Stone, and she will immediately transform and try to attack you.
After defeating Jearl, you can search her corpsefor her house and basement keys. The quest log will also be updated, requiring you tospeak to Captain Burd, the commander of the Bruma Guard, for more information regarding the spies.

It is possible for both spies to show up together at the Rune Stone, and you can kill both of them at once, saving you the trouble of locating Saveri Faram later on, but you’ll still have to follow through with the other milestones of this quest.
Fast travel to the Bruma Castleand talk to Captain Burd. Burd will reveal that things have been quiet in Bruma except for Jearl arriving from the south after her journey. After you’ve revealed to Burd that Jearl was a Mythic Dawn Spy,he’ll authorize you to search her house for more clues.

Searching For Clues In Jearl’s House
Jearl’s House is located in the southern part of Bruma. As you go inside the house, you won’t find anything meaningful, but you have to look for a small hatch in the ground leading to the basement.In the basement, you’ll find Jearl’s Orders, a parchment detailing what the spy was asked to do.
Pick up Jearl’s Orders, and reading them will reveal to you thatthere are, in fact, two spies. You can then either exit the basement through the same hatch that you arrived from, or you can takethe door leading to Bruma Caverns. There’s nothing notable in the caverns, except that they lead you outside of Bruma.

Now, you have to head back to Jauffre inside the Cloud Ruler Temple and report your findings. Jearl’s Orders also state that the Mythic Dawn is planning a large-scale attack on Bruma, and after finding that out, Jauffreasks you to eliminate the other agent, an individual namedSaveri, before things get out of hand.
Where To Find Saveri
Finding Saveri can be very challenging, as you don’t have anything to go on except that she’s currently in Bruma. Asking around the citizens of Bruma will not reveal much information about Saveri’s whereabouts, but you haveto look for the beggar.
you may findJorck the Outcast standing next to Arnora’s house, which is to the left of Jearl’s House. You canpay Jorck five gold coins, and he’ll tell you that he has seen a stranger inside Jearl’s house.

You can also persuade the beggar and ask him about Gray Fox. He will then ask you what you want to do with him. If you say that you want to work with the Gray Fox, Jorck will tell you about a specific location in the Imperial City to learn more about this individual, and it will start theFinding the Thieves Guild quest.
Now, if you were to head to Jearl’s house right away, you wouldn’t be able to find Saveri. Instead, you have to wait for the night. You shouldtry going to Jearl’s house between 3 am to 7 amto find her inside the house.

Unless Saveri is sleeping, she will immediately start attacking you as soon as she sees you. You’ll have tokill Saveri Faram.
After taking care of her, you have toreturn to Jauffre to report that you have dealt with both spies.
Jauffre will thank you and ask you to talk to Martin, as he might’ve finished decrypting the book. That will mark the end of the quest, and talking to Martin willinitiate the Blood of the Daedra main quest.
