You’ve crafted the perfect deck of beyblades. The ideal combination of ratchet, blade, and bit, tuned to perfection to help you win your match. But have you considered the other, crucial part of your setup: your launcher?

Beyblade Xlaunchers all do fundamentally the same thing in providing the initial spin to your beyblade. But with three different kinds of launcher, each with their own pros and cons, knowing which one you should go with could be a critical part of your strategy.

An entry launcher for Beyblade X.

Entry Launcher

The Entry Launcher is likely the first one you’ll come across in Beyblade X, beingincluded with many Beyblade starter kits. It’s comprised of two parts: thelauncher and the ripcord. You feed in the ripcord in the marked hole, and thenclip your beyblade into place, before launching.

This is the most basic kind of launcher available, and is also the only one of the three to bedefinitively worse than the rest. It does the job and launches beyblades, but it only has one internal gear, meaning itlaunches the slowest. You’ll also likely be using theshortest available ripcord, further reducing your maximum output.

Once you’ve got a better launcher, you may just throw these away. Otherwise, you’ll have a pile of them laying around, being useless.

The size of the Entry Launcher also makes it difficult to use for larger beyblades. There’s a good chance you’llcatch your fingerson the side of the blade, risking potential failed launches that could cost you a round. For these reasons, it’s highly recommended you upgrade to either astring or a winder launcher.

String Launcher

The String launcher is the only one of the three tonot require a ripcord, using a string built into the unit itself. Simply load the beyblade andpull on the stringto launch it.

The String launcher ismuch more powerful than the entry launcher. This is because the launcher usesgear trains, taking the force you enact on one, smaller gear and magnifying it to abigger one for more spin.

Spin launchers are also thequickest, which is ideal if you’replaying by yourselfand need to launch multiple beyblades in quick succession. It’s also much bigger for a better hold, and is evencompatible with grips, if you prefer to use them.

String launchers are available in packs with some of the best beyblades in Beyblade X, likeSoar Phoenix. There is also a left-spin version available withCobalt Dragoon, however this version isnot compatible with right-spin Beyblades.

Winder Launcher

The final launcher is theWinder, which offers themost power of all three types. It combines the ripcord design of the Entry launcher with thegear trainof the string launcher to make a tool that canfire beyblades at ridiculously high speeds.

Though compatible with the entry launchers' ripcords, the cords included with the Winder arelonger and more rugged, providing much more force.

The Winder is also compatible with grips, unlike the entry launcher.

The decision between using aString launcher or a Winder launcher is a personal one. Though the Winder does provide slightly more spin, some prefer thequicker reload and the stabilitya String launcher provides. Winders trade off their greater force with a greater chance ofdropping the beyblade, especially for newcomers who have not yet perfected their technique.
