You’ll need to spend a good amount of time working on your Class Weapon upgrades inthe Training Room or Garagewhen you play throughThe Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy, but your teammate’s offensive list of attacks isn’t the only way they can help lead the team to victory on the battlefield.

With every teammate in The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy having a passive ability that gives them (and your other classmates) some boosts and buffs out on the field, you’ll do well to take passive abilities into consideration when you’re strategizing for your next turn in battle.

Special Biography

When any enemy isafflicted with an ailmentwhen Takumi strikes in battle, he’ll deal someadditional damageto any invader who’s already struggling. Keep an eye on your other teammate’s moves and subsequent status debuffs, and have Yugamu sweep in once they’re affected for the kill.

9Shouma Ginzaki

Special Shut-In

It takes Shouma quite a while to believe in himself enough to try tojoin the actual Defense teamafter some goading from Kurara and intense training from Takemaru to help him beef up before the squabble. Once he gets on the field, though, you’ll find that Shouma battles inside a colossal mech instead of out on the ground by himself.

But that’s okay, since Shouma is a tank character meant to absorb damage and spin it back on attacking enemies. He’llgain attack for each hit takenin battle, which makes him pack a powerful punch on your next turn if he survives the onslaught.

Darumi Amemiya’s character screen in The Hundred Line Last Defense Academy.

8Darumi Amemiya

Special Sick Day

One of the very first teammates who comes out onto the battlefield with your team, Darumi has plenty of sassy snark to offer as she lobs cross-shaped knife attacks at her foes in battle. That said, keep an eye on Darumi after you’ve had her perform an action on your turn, since she’s not quite finished yet.

If you’ve got another AP to throw at Darumi, Special Sick Day sees to it that herattacks change when she’s Fatigued, adding status ailments and debuffs in addition to healing her Fatigue and readying her for a third attack as well.

Takemaru Yakushiji’s character screen in The Hundred Line Last Defense Academy.

7Takemaru Yakushiji

Special Rampage

When you need to handle swaths of lower-level enemies in massive quantities, look no further than Takemaru and how skillfully he uses his motorcycle as a Class Weapon to perform a few lethal donuts on the battlefield, spinning in a wild circle to annihilate any invaders on the surrounding eight tiles.

But not only does Takemaru pack a punch once he begins attacking, but you’ll see that hegains one Armor for each space he movesacross the field on his turn. The further you send Takemaru to handle business, the more business he’ll be able to withstand on enemy turns.

Kurara Oosuzuki’s character screen in The Hundred Line Last Defense Academy.

6Kurara Oosuzuki

Special Crafting

Another student who joins the fight after Takumi is brought over to the Second-to-Last Defense Academy, Kurara is the fearsome girl in the tomato mask who has no problem making threats as she gets to know you and the team. That said, once she’s on the battlefield with you, her defensive skills become critical.

Anytime you’re doing a defensive battler centered on ensuring the Barrier Generator doesn’t fall and make way for invader attacks, leave Kurara near the barrier whenever possible – she canrestore HP to the Barrier Generatorand other structures when she’s nearby on you turn.

Gaku Maruko’s character screen in The Hundred Line Last Defense Academy.

5Gaku Maruko

Special Vibe

Gaku seems at first like there’s no reason for him to fight, but once he does find it in himself to join you on the battlefield, he’s got a fire in his belly and a Class Weapon powerful enough to make him one hell of an offensive fighter when you need to handle big groups of school invaders.

If you’ve got Gaku on the squad during battle, though, you may want to wait until your Voltage passes the first threshold, since Gakugains one Attack point when Voltage is over 100 percent. If you’re using it on this turn for a Special Attack, let Gaku move before you expend the Voltage to get his free boost with his passive.

Eito Aotsuki’s character screen in The Hundred Line Last Defense Academy.

4Eito Aotsuki

Special Fortunetelling

Not only is Eito one of the more impressive offensive fighters on your squad in The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy, able to sling attacks at multitudes of enemies without so much as breaking a sweat, but his passive skill is one of the best in the game, since it offers some free perks in battle.

After Eito takes a turn in a fight, he stands to potentiallygain a perk instead of becoming Fatigued. When Eito’s attack is finished, he can potentially earn an extra Attack or Amor point instead of becoming Fatigued, which effortlessly allows him a follow-up move if you have the AP to do one.

Tsubasa Kawana’s character screen in The Hundred Line Last Defense Academy.

3Tsubasa Kawana

Special Energy

Fatigue is one of the more frustrating conditions to deal with on the battlefield, especially once you’vechosen your favorite teammatesand gotten the hang of how to use them in battle. Of course fighting so hard and tirelessly for the school takes it out of everyone – except for Tsubasa, that is.

Since our favorite mechanic is in a tactical vehicle, you’ll find that Tsubasadoes not become Fatiguedduring battles. Not only that, but her second Class Weapon upgrade allows her to heal Fatigue for surrounding teammates, too, so use her to keep the battle rolling.

Kyoshika Magadori’s character screen in The Hundred Line Last Defense Academy.

2Kyoshika Magadori

Special Bushido

We know there are swarms of colorful school invaders coming your way during all your defensive battles to save the school, but you’ll need to pay special attention to any invader the game makes a scene out of showing you – these are Commanders, and defeating them gives one teammate a pretty powerful upgrade for their hard work.

And since Commanders are singular enemies, this is where Kyoshika really gets a chance to shine, since she’lldeal extra damage to singular targetslike Commanders. Kyoshika is one hell of an attacker as it is, but with her passive skill giving her an extra buff, setting her to slay Commanders is a must.

Nozomi Kirifuji’s character screen in The Hundred Line Last Defense Academy.

Special Health

Takumi thinks Nozomi is something special the very second they meet, and once she joined the team on the battlefield during the fight after returning from the Second-to-Last Defense Academy, we see why pretty clearly. While she’s mortal and cannot be revived if she falls in battle, Kurara is still indispensable.

Not only can Nozomi heal Stun for your teammates, bringing them back into battle a turn early after they expend their Special Attacks when your Voltage has filled, but Kurara canheal HP for teammates around herbetween turns. And when you’ve got wave after wave of enemy attacking at once, you’ll want all the extra HP you can get.
